Ah-ha moment!!

So, I finally finished organizing my closet and realized that I have more jeans that don’t fit me, than ones that actually do. What a bummer! I don’t understand how I’m not seeing major changes on the scale when I stated training for my 2nd Half Marathon 3 weeks ago…..waaaaa!! I also have not been happy with my scale lately and have been fluctuating between high 140’s and low 150’s for waaaaay to long. Therefore I have chosen to follow through with the Weight Watcher’s Points plus program again (but not going to the meetings) to see if it’ll help out. I know it’s going to help me with portion control for sure. Well, that’s my rant for the day.

I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend!!

1 week away

from my 1st half marathon. I’m to excited & can’t wait to see my bestie, too!

T minus 25 days and counting

That’s right, 25 days until running my first half marathon. Eeek, I’m very nervous & excited, too.  I ran 10.4 miles this past saturday (braved 30mph winds) but made it through and felt so strong and thrilled afterwards. I can’t wait until my BFF gets here, it’ll be great with her running by my side.

Stats;7 days into 17 day diet program

Walked for 2hrs yesterday and did an intense biking workout today so my weight in down a little from yesterdays weigh in, but I’m not going to count it until next friday’s weigh in. Here’s what my scale said this morning:

151.6 -5.6lbs -1.2%bf/ 34.9f/4.4b/47.6w/35.5m

I will take measurements at the 17day mark, which will be Feb 2nd…….I also think I’ll post this on a new blog, and just start a new one every 17 days to keep things less confusing and separate from my regular weigh ins with the team.

Feeling vulnerable & posting my stats

Okay, I have debated for a while now about posting this info & finally decided to just swallow my pride and do it. I think it will help me through this journey even more if I not only focus on the weight, but measurements, too. Especially during those times when the numbers on the scale go up and/or stay the same. I really think this will help me feel accountable too and it’s just what I need when my motivation starts lacking. I will be editing this blog once a week to post new stats. Here goes!……

Stats for 1/16/2011 Day #1 on The 17 Day Diet (supplementing the ww program & getting back to serious “clean eating.”)

Here’s what my scale said this morning: 156.8 - 36.1F - 4.0B - 46.7W - 31.3M

Measurements: Rbicep-12; Lbicep-12; Waist (1″ above belly button)-34; Waist (below bb)-38; Hips-39 3/4; Thighs-41 1/2; Rcalf-15; Lcalf-14 1/2

Here’s what my scale said this morning: 156.8 - 36.1F - 4.0B - 46.7W - 31.3M

Supplementing the WW program

My scale hasn’t moved much lately and I’m pretty frustrated so I’ve decided to get back to basics. I bought the book The 17 Day Diet (saw this on the Doctors tv show and Dr. Phil, recently.) Starting out with day 1 today. It will also help me keep up with my Weight Watchers plan b/c I’ll get plenty of  protein, “power foods” and vegetables back into my diet.  I’m excited about doing this. There are 4 Phases to this and I think it’s going to help me get out of this rut. I’m so surprised I gained last week when I’ve worked harder than I have in a really long time. So, I got on my scale and checked all my other stats, too. I still have to take my measurements and will edit them in here later.

Measurements: Rbicep-12; Lbicep-12; Waist (1″ above belly button)-34; Waist (below bb)-38; Hips-39 3/4; Thighs-41 1/2; Rcalf-15; Lcalf-14 1/2

Here’s what my scale said this morning: 156.8 - 36.1F - 4.0B - 46.7W - 31.3M

I’m going to try my best to update this once a week so that I can really take a good hard look at the numbers and hopefully it will help me stay motivated. Looking forward to Week #2 of 10 week 1/2 marathon training starting tomarrow, also. Have a great week everyone!

My 10 week training schedule for the 1/2

The countdown is on….109 days from today will be a day I’ll never forget. I’m sure I’ll have so many mixed emotions as I embark upon my first ever 1/2 marathon. I’m not sure if any of you would be intersted in my training schdule or not, but I got it from  here http://www.marathonrookie.com/half-marathon-training.html

Yesterday was day #1 on this schedule. Before, I was just doing random running and whatever distance I felt like. The only thing that concerns me about this is it calls for 3 days rest and while I don’t mind taking the day after the long run off I’d like to work out on the Wii the other 2 days. I hope that this won’t hinder my recovery. Or if it’s best to take those days off for optimun recovery? If so, I was thinking I’d workout on the Wii the same days as running, but do one workout in the morning and the other in the evening. I’m open to any suggestions and/or constructive

Lack of sleep…..advice please.

Hi. I have been having a really difficult time sleeping lately for 3 reasons…….

Reason #3- Addicted to Facebook.

Reason #2- Have been having an awkward pain that starts in my lower back and goes all the way down to my feet. I kinda think it’s a pinched nerve but am not sure. I always (unconsciously) lean on my right foot when I’m standing while doing dishes, cooking, etc.

Reason #1- My daughter climbs in the bed with my everynight. She talks in her sleeps and she’s a wiggly sleeper, too. I’m constatly being woken up & startled by her talking really loudly or smacking me in the face when she’s moving around. I’ve tried taking her back to her bed many times and she just climbs back into my bed shortly afterwards. I’ve never really had this problem with the other kids. Can any of you give me any advice on what you’ve tried and has worked to keep your little ones in their own beds throughout the night? It’s been almost 3 weeks since this has been going on and the 1 time she stayed in her bed all night I still couldn’t sleep b/c I woke up scared and thinking something was wrong once I realized she had stayed in her own room.  Any advice is welcomed & thanks.

It’s Official!!…..

I just signed up for the I-Challenge (Champaign, IL April 2011) which is a 5K run friday afternoon & half marathon saturday morning. I’m feeling really excited and nervous about it. It’ll be great though b/c my BFF is driving up from GA to run the races with me. Yay!

Upcoming goals I hope to accomplish

Well, 3.8lbs to go until I’ve reached 10% lost of my starting weight. I’m hoping I can lose that in the next 2 weeks. I’m starting round #2 of Insanity tomarrow, so hopefully that’ll “shock” my body into losing it. Beyond that, my next goal is once I lose 6.8 I’ll finally be out of the 150’s and hopefully still moving at a steady pace right on through the 140’s. Crossing my fingers and toes I can get close enough (as in more than halfway…or 10-15lbs away from) to my ultimate goal by Christmas or New Years, but for right now I’m thinking short-term and taking it one day at a time. I also need to stick with my weekly goals of 75oz water and more fresh fruits and veggies in my diet. I also need to keep training for the 2 upcoming 5K’s I’ve signed up for. My running buddy and I are “hooked” on the 5K races now, and knowing that the money I pay for them is for a good cause, makes it that much “sweeter”! Yay!!
